Geo-economics

Geo-economics

This area overviews the main geographical and natural conditions for establishing industrial, agricultural and business service centres in different major economic regions of the world. It also deals with the analyses of the role of natural resources and the socio-economic background in implementing sustainable growth in the analysed regions. Sustainable growth may be achieved through implementing investments to provide jobs and prosperity for the local population. It is also imperative to thoroughly analyse the performance of transnational corporations in the manufacturing and service industries and transport in terms of the relative geographic distance from the production sites to consumers. Correlations between the geographic distance and the transport cost, as well as their influence on price-setting could also be investigated.
